Aldon manufacture
and distribute many of there own performance products.
Products
include:
.

Aldon have been successfully
modifying distributors for many years. They are now probably the only
people in the UK, if not the world who specialise in this type of work.
Aldon have customers throughout Europe, Asia, Australia and America. Aldon
have been an O.K. supplier of X/Flow distributors to Caterham Cars for
many years.
The units that are supplied
/ modified are based on Lucas and Bosch distributors. Specials and one-offs
are catered for and many obsolete units can be rebuilt and modified.
Distributors can be supplied
brand new with a modified advance curve to suit the engine specification.
Another option is for the customers own unit to be sent to Aldon for them
to modify the advance curve in that. All distributors can be supplied
with electronic ignition.
Aldon's range caters for
'A' series, 'B' series, Ford X/Flow, Ford Twin cam, Ford OHC (pinto),
Ford V6 (Essex) engines. The modification of the advance curve is dependent
on;
1. What carburettor(s)
is being used ?
2. Which camshafts are fitted ?
3. Compression ration of the engine ?
4. What the car will be used for ?

non-vacuum distributor, to suit rally and race tuned engines, running
on 649, sprint or supersprint type camshafts. Also available for Piper
300/320 or Kent 296/310 type camshafts.
|

Uses
the same advance characteristics as 100AR but has the later type drive
dog to suit 'A' plus blocks in the metro.
|
| |
'B' SERIES APPLICATIONS
|
| 101BY1 |
A distributor with vacuum advance, designed to replace the original
distributor on std. MGB's and Marina TC's, fitted with HS4 SU Carburettors.
N.B. Later versions of these cars have the vacuum advance pipe connected
to the inlet manifold not the carburettor, use 101BY2 for these applications.
|
| 101BY1S
|
Identical
to the 101BY1 but fitted with a distributor cap which has the
H.T. leads coming out of the side instead of the top. Necessary for
a few pre-rubber MGB's, where H.T.leads may foul on the steering column.
|
| 101BY2 |
A
distributor with vacuum advance to suit std. MGB's and Marina TC's
when fitted with HIF4 SU carburettors. Improves driveability, while
retaining the resistance to 'run-on'.
|
| 101BY2S |
Identical
to the 101BY2 but fitted with a distributor cap which has the
H.T. leads coming out of the side instead of the top.
|
| 101BR1 |
A non-vacuum
distributor to suit tuned 'B' series using camshafts such as 714,715,
Piper 270,285 and fitted with a side draught carburettor.
|
| 101BR1S |
Identical
to the 101BR1 but fitted with a distributor cap which has the H.T.
leads coming out of the side instead of the top.
|
| 101BR2 |
A
vacuum advance distributor to suit road tuned 'B' series, using 714,
864, Piper 270,285 camshafts but retaining the SU carburettors.
|
| |
FORD X/FLOW AND TWIN CAM (ALL LUCAS BASED
|
| 103FX1 |
A non-vacuum
distributor, to suit X/Flow engines, fitted with side draught carburettors
but which retain the standard 'GT' camshaft.
|
| 103FXY |
A
non-vacuum distributor, which suits most tuned X/Flow engines using
camshafts such as A2, BCF1, Piper 270,285, Kent 234,244 in conjunction
with side draught carburettors. N.B. A vacuum unit must not be used
when an engine is fitted with side draught carburettors. |
| 103FXYV |
On some X/Flow
engines with a twin choke down draught carburettor it may be possible
to have a vacuum fitted. |
| 103FXYS |
Identical
to the 100FXY but fitted with a distributor cap which has the H.T.
leads coming out of the side instead of the top. This is normally
necessary when a pair of side draught carburettors are fitted to 1100
and 1300 engines. However we cannot guarantee fitment if the block
has be skimmed to a great extent.
|
| 103FXR
|
A
distributor for race specification X/Flow's. Full details of the engine
specification are required.

The Aldon 'Ignitor' has
been proven successfully over many years. It is the ideal choice for the
race enthusiast, general road user or classic restorer. It fits entirely
under the distributor cap for a neat, clean look and costs up to 40% less
than other makes.
Facts about the 'Ignitor'
Operating voltage: 6v to
16v DC
Temperature range: 50 Deg.F. to 300 Deg.F.
RPM range: Full operating range of engine down to zero RPM
With the ignitor there
are 30,000 to 35,000 volts available. Normal range on (OK) standard systems
range from 26,000 to 27,000 volts. The 'ignitor' can be converted to a
high energy system by the installation of a high energy coil and silicon
HT leads. The Aldon 'Flame Thrower' coil or Lucas sports coil have both
proven to be very compatible with the ignitors.
Both negative and positive
earth applications are catered for. All ignitor applications are determined
by the distributor make and model. The ignitor is available for most Lucas,
Bosch, Motorcraft and Delco 4, 6 and 8 cylinder distributors.

With the loss of four and
five star petrol from Service Station forecourts, means that modern high
compression engines must either use a lower compression ratio or less
than optimum ignition advance.
It TURBO or SUPERCHARGED,
the limitation of Lead Free and 'LRP' fuels lower octane rating means
less boost can be used, resulting in less power output from the engine.
Aldon 'Petrol Octane Booster'
was introduced several years ago to combat this problem and is now recognised
as THE brand leader, with independent tests showing it to be the most
effective octane improver currently available.
- 'Aldon Octane Booster'
is suitable for use with both lead free fuels and catalysts.
- Reduces knock, pinking
and run-on. Helps avoid holed pistons/ blown gaskets
- Higher power - Better
Acceleration
- Safe in all fuel systems
- Race & Rally proven
and tested
N.B. To enable this product
to produce the best effects some of the ingredients are highly toxic.
This product CANNOT be sent through the post, it must be collected in
person from Aldon or their recognised dist
